How it works + what to expect

1 . Lets chat

We will talk about your vision for the art and your budget.

This can be over email or DM, and the aim will be for me to get a comprehensive idea of what you are after. What aspects of my style you want to be incorporated, what sort of subject matter you want, what you want the final piece for etc.

It's important that I understand what you want in the artwork, especially if you have something quite specific in mind.

2 . ideas and messy sketch

At this stage, I will come up with the overall idea/layout of the piece, and create a quick sketch, which I will share with you. Then we can go through and edit the idea from there.

Depending on your budget, we can go back and edit this stage, a few times.

It takes more time to edit and re-draw ideas, so if you think you might need to be able to edit details, etc, you may need a bit more in your budget.

3 . Final sketch

At this stage, I will create a more detailed sketch, the "final sketch"

This stage is still a "sketch" so it will be a bit messy, but you can see what the piece will look like.

Depending on your budget choice, this could be a time for review and any more edits.

Or it might be time to move on to the final stage!

In the final sketch, more details have been added and the character's hair has been changed, to look like the clients, as discussed.

Depending whether you have a specific idea or you want me to come up with something cool, based on just a few words, this will dictate how much time will be spent on this stage.

We will also set a budget and rough timeline for the project.

At this point, I require a deposit before starting on the artwork.
Than final payment will be required once the piece is complete.

All deposits and payments will be via pay pal (or bank transfer if you are in NZ and prefer)

4 . Final piece

Here is the 'Messy" sketch shown to the client. She loved the idea but wanted to make the character look more like her.

So we decided to change the hair, so it would imitate her hair style.

For example: this clients ideas was just to use the Phrase "Phone eat's first"

This stage is pretty self-explanatory, hehe

Again depending on your price package, this would be a time to make any final edits, nothing too huge, but just to get those details right.

Then we are done!! and we are both super stoked with the results.

The final piece!

Sharing, rights + social media

5 . paid + delivered

Once the final payment has cleared, I will send all the file types you need and send them, along with the "File Type Cheat sheet" via email.

The file types I generally send are PDF, PNG, and JPG.

I will send the artwork files via email and you will be able to print and use the art as many times as you like!

You will own the rights to the artwork, as it is a commissioned piece.
I hold the right to share my work on my social media, in my portfolio, and display it on the website as desired.

If your piece is very personal and you would rather I don't share the art at all, please let me know and I will honour that and the art can remain completely private.

Note: Currently only taking on digital commissions, so you will receive the final artwork as a digital file, which you can print as many times and on as many different formats as your heart desires :)

If you would like to get a commission done or have any questions, please feel free to message me :)
